About

Kali Khoh Temple, also known locally as Kali Kho, Kalikoh, or the Cave of Kali, is a revered pilgrimage centre nestled in the Vindhya mountain range in Vindhyachal, Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh.

This ancient cave temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti, with Bhairav also worshipped here, and is recognized as a prominent Shakti Peetha and hill temple.

The temple’s unique cave architecture and spiritual ambiance attract devotees and pilgrims from across India, especially those seeking darshan of the divine Mother in her powerful form.

The temple is open daily from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM, allowing ample time for devotees to participate in rituals and seek blessings. The Mangala Aarti is performed early in the morning from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM, while the Sandhya Aarti takes place in the evening from 7:15 PM to 8:15 PM.

Poojas are conducted in both Hindi and Sanskrit, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of devotees. For darshan, the temple offers free entry, along with options for special and VIP darshan.

Kali Khoh Temple is especially vibrant during major festivals such as Chaitra Navratri (March–April), Sharadiya Navratri (September–October), Kajali Mahotsav (June), Dussehra (October), and Kali Puja (October–November).

The best times to visit are early mornings between 5–8 AM, during evening aarti, in the winter months (November to February), and throughout the festival season when the temple comes alive with devotion. Reaching Kali Khoh Temple is convenient.

Pilgrims can arrive at Vindhyachal town via NH-19, which connects Allahabad and Varanasi. From Vindhyachal, the main Shaktipeeth area is easily accessible by auto-rickshaw or electric rickshaw from Vindhyachal Station or the Maa Vindhyavasini Temple.

Visitors can ascend to the temple either by walking up the stairs or using the Kali Khoh Ropeway, which operates from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The nearest railway stations are Vindhyachal (3 km), Mirzapur (10 km), and Mughalsarai Junction (80 km).

Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi is about 68 km away. Accommodation options are plentiful, with numerous budget hotels, Dharamshalas, the Vindhyavasini Temple Trust Dharamshala, and a UP Tourism Guest House available near the main Vindhyavasini temple and railway station area.

Parking is provided, though it may get crowded during peak days. Photography is not allowed inside the main shrine area, preserving the sanctity of the temple. Prasadam includes sweets, flowers, coconuts, and charanamrit, while annadanam is offered by local ashrams.

Nearby attractions include Maa Vindhyavasini Temple, Maa Ashtabhuja Devi Temple, Sita Kund, Gerua Talab Temple, and Vindham Waterfall, making Kali Khoh Temple a significant spiritual destination in Uttar Pradesh. For more information, the temple’s official website and contact phone are available for pilgrims planning their visit.
