Iringole Kavu Temple

Renowned as a significant pilgrimage centre and village temple, Iringole Kavu is set amidst a lush sacred grove, reflecting the unique Kerala architectural style and offering a tranquil spiritual experience for devotees and visitors alike.

The temple is easily accessible from Perumbavoor town, which is well-connected via Main Central (MC) Road and Aluva-Munnar Road. Pilgrims can reach Perumbavoor bus stand and take a local bus towards Kothamangalam or Kuruppampady, alighting at the post office or temple stop.

Alternatively, auto-rickshaws are readily available from Perumbavoor. From the drop-off point, a short 500-meter walk through the serene Iringole Temple Road leads visitors to the temple entrance, passing through the verdant sacred grove that envelops the shrine.

Darshan at Iringole Kavu Temple is free for all devotees, with temple timings from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The best time to visit is during the early morning hours (5–8 AM), in the winter months from November to February, or during the vibrant festival season.

The temple observes a traditional dress code: men are required to wear a mundu (dhoti) without a shirt or upper garment inside the sanctum, while women should wear saree, salwar kameez, or skirt and top. Revealing or western casual outfits are not permitted.

The temple is known for its diverse poojas, including Muttarukkal (breaking coconuts), Poomoodal (flower offering), Neypayasam and Kadumpayasam (ghee/jaggery rice pudding), Sarkara Nivedyam (jaggery offering), Thiru-udayada Samarppanam (offering sacred silk garments), and Chathussatham & Koottupayasam.

Rituals are conducted in Sanskrit and Malayalam. Major festivals celebrated here include Iringole Pooram (March–April), Thrikarthika (November–December), and the annual Punaprathishta Day.

During major festivals, free annadanam is provided, and devotees receive prasadam such as kumkum, holy water, and payasam. For those traveling from afar, the nearest railway stations are Aluva (18 km), Angamaly for Kalady (20 km), and Ernakulam Junction/Town (35 km).
