About

Hattiangadi Siddhivinayaka Temple, also known locally as Sri Siddhivinayaka Temple, Goshtipura, and Aramane Adi, is an ancient pilgrimage centre dedicated to Lord Ganesha.

Nestled along the riverbank in the serene village of Hattiangadi, Kundapura Taluk, Udupi district, Karnataka, this temple stands as a living heritage site with roots tracing back to the Alupa dynasty.

The temple’s unique setting by the riverside and its tranquil village ambiance make it a sought-after destination for devotees seeking spiritual solace and blessings from Lord Ganesha. The temple welcomes visitors daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, offering free darshan to all.

The best time to visit is during the morning hours between 8 AM and 12 PM, in the winter months from November to February, or during the vibrant festival season.

Major festivals celebrated here include Ganesha Chaturthi (August-September), Ananta Chaturdashi (September), Kartika Masa (October-November), and the monthly Sankashtahara Chaturthi, drawing pilgrims from across Karnataka and beyond.

Devotees can participate in a variety of poojas such as Ashtadravyathmaka Ganahavana, Thrikala Pooja, Sahasra Narikela Ganayaga, Alankara Pooja, Sathya Ganapathi Vratha, Laksha Doorvarchane, and Sindhura (Kumkum) Archane.

These rituals are conducted in Kannada and Sanskrit, maintaining the temple’s traditional spiritual practices. Arecanut flowers from the crown of the Lord are distributed as prasadam, and free meals are served at the Sri Balachandra Prasada dining hall, enhancing the pilgrimage experience.

For those planning a visit, the temple is easily accessible by road from Kundapura and NH 66. From Udupi, take NH 66 north towards Kundapura, then follow signage towards Basrur/Hattiangadi for about 8–10 km.

Buses run from Udupi to Kundapura, from where local transport can be hired for the final stretch. The nearest railway stations are Kundapura (10 km) and Udupi (40 km), while Mangalore International Airport is about 90 km away. Parking and restrooms are available near the temple complex.

Accommodation options include basic rooms managed by the temple trust in Hattiangadi (pre-booking recommended), hotels in Kundapura, and rooms at the Anegudde Sri Vinayaka Temple complex.

Nearby attractions for pilgrims and tourists include Anegudde Sri Vinayaka Temple, Kollur Mookambika Temple, Maravanthe Beach, Guddattu Vinayaka Temple, and Kodi Beach/Delta Point.
