Hat Kalika Temple

Dedicated to Goddess Shakti (Amman), this ancient hill temple is renowned for its spiritual ambience and the striking Nagara (North Indian) architectural style.

The temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with the best time to visit being early morning (5–8 AM), during the evening aarti, or in the pleasant winter and summer months.

Festival seasons, particularly Chaitra Navaratri (March–April), Shardiya Navaratri (September–October), Dussehra (October), Diwali (October–November), and Maha Shivaratri (February–March), draw large numbers of pilgrims for special poojas and vibrant celebrations.

Devotees can participate in various poojas, including the Morning Aarti (6:00–6:30 AM), Evening Aarti (8:00–8:30 PM), and rituals such as Havan, Sahasra Chandi Yagna, Sahasraghat Puja, Shat-Chandi Maha-yagna, and Ashta-bali Athvaar Puja, conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi.

Reaching Hat Kalika Temple involves traveling to Kathgodam by train or Pantnagar by air, followed by a taxi or bus journey via Almora and Seraghat to Gangolihat. From Gangolihat, the temple is accessed by driving to the parking area and descending a canopied stone staircase.
