Ganga Mandir Har Ki Pauri

This ancient temple, built by Raja Man Singh of Amer, stands as a living heritage temple along the sacred banks of the Ganga River and is a focal point for spiritual seekers and pilgrims from across India.

The temple is dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), with shrines also devoted to Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Brahma. Its architecture follows the classic Nagara (North Indian) style, adding to the spiritual and historical ambiance of the site.

Ganga Mandir Har Ki Pauri is renowned for its daily Ganga Aarti rituals, which are performed in Sanskrit and Hindi. The Mangala Aarti (Morning Ganga Aarti) takes place around sunrise, while the Shringar/Sandhya Aarti (Evening Ganga Aarti) is held at sunset.

The best time to visit is during the evening aarti, in the morning between 8 AM and 12 PM, during winter months (November to February), on weekdays for a less crowded experience, or during festival seasons.

Major festivals celebrated here include Ganga Dussehra, Kartik Purnima, Diwali, Kumbh Mela/Ardh Kumbh Mela, and Vaisakhi/Baisakhi. For darshan, the temple offers free entry, special darshan (INR 500), and VIP darshan (INR 3500).

Modest, traditional attire is recommended for both men and women, with specific guidelines to ensure respect for the sanctity of the rituals and holy dips. To reach Ganga Mandir Har Ki Pauri, visitors can arrive in Haridwar by train, bus, or car.

From Haridwar Junction Railway Station (2 km away) or the bus stand, auto-rickshaws or e-rickshaws are available, dropping pilgrims near the outer perimeter parking. From there, a 10–15 minute walk through Moti Bazaar leads to the temple.
