About

EME Temple, also known as Dakshinamurti Temple or EME Mandir, is a unique pilgrimage centre located in the Fatehgunj area of Vadodara, Gujarat.

Nestled within the EME School and Army Cantonment campus, this modern temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, with additional shrines for Lord Ganesha, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Hanuman, and the Navagraha.

The temple stands out for its distinctive architecture and serene garden surroundings, making it a peaceful spot for devotees and visitors alike. The temple is open daily from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM, offering ample opportunity for darshan.

Entry is free for all visitors, and the temple welcomes worshippers for daily rituals. The daily aarti, held at 6:00 PM, is a spiritual highlight, conducted in Sanskrit, Hindi, and Gujarati.

Special attention is given to festivals such as Maha Shivratri (February-March), Shravan Maas (July-August), and Navratri (September-October), when the temple comes alive with vibrant celebrations and community gatherings.

During these occasions, basic prasadam such as mishri, dry fruits, or sweets is distributed, and community food is sometimes arranged.

Visitors are encouraged to dress modestly, adhering to the temple’s dress code: men should wear full-length trousers or jeans with shirts or t-shirts, while women are advised to choose sarees, salwar kameez, or kurtis/jeans with covered shoulders and legs.

Shorts, short skirts, and sleeveless tops are not permitted. Reaching the EME Temple is straightforward. From Vadodara city, head to the Fatehgunj area near Rosary High School.

The temple is accessed via the EME School/Cantonment entry gate on EME Road, where a valid photo ID is required for security checks. After parking near the entry gates, visitors enjoy a short five-minute walk through well-maintained gardens to the temple.

Parking is available, and the flat, paved pathways make the temple accessible; visitors may inquire at the gate for mobility assistance. For those traveling from outside Vadodara, Vadodara Junction Railway Station is just 4.5 km away, and Vadodara Airport (BDQ) is 5 km from the temple.

Several hotels are conveniently located nearby, including Four Points by Sheraton, Ginger Vadodara, Hotel Lotus Gold, and 7 Apple Hotel.

While at the temple, visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Sayaji Baug, Baroda Museum & Picture Gallery, Kirti Mandir, Sursagar Lake, and the Laxmi Vilas Palace.

Please note that photography is strictly prohibited inside the temple complex, and cameras or mobile phones with cameras are restricted or banned. For further information, devotees can contact the temple at +91-9452902102. The EME Temple in Vadodara offers a tranquil and spiritually enriching experience for all who visit.
