Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple

Dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, the temple also enshrines deities such as Ammanavaru (Goddess Parvati), Lord Ganesh, Kumaraswamy, Kanyakumari, Kalarahu, Kalarkayi, and Annappa Swamy, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings from multiple divine forms.

The temple is renowned for its Kerala-style architecture and is managed by a local panchayat trust. It welcomes pilgrims daily from 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Devotees can opt for free darshan or avail special darshan for a nominal fee of ₹200.

The temple conducts a variety of poojas, including Shatarudrabhisheka, Bilwarchana, Panchamrutha Abhishekam with Ekadasa Rudrabhisheka, Karpoora Harathi, Moodappa Pooja and Panchakajjaya for Sri Ganapathi Swamy, Pavamanabhisheka and Kumkum Archana for Ammanavaru, and Pooja with Balivada for Annappa Swamy.

Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple is especially vibrant during festivals such as Laksha Deepotsava (November–December), Maha Shivaratri (February–March), Navarathri (September–October), Ganesha Chaturthi (August–September), and Deepavali (October–November).

The best time to visit is during winter (November to February), early mornings between 5–8 AM, or during the annual brahmotsavam and festival seasons.

The temple maintains a strict dress code: men are required to wear traditional attire and must remove shirts and vests before entering the sanctum, while pants or trousers are allowed in the outer areas but shorts are not permitted.

Women should wear modest traditional attire such as saree or chudidar. Photography, video recording, and mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the main shrine, with deposit counters available for safe storage.

Reaching Dharmasthala is convenient via road, with direct routes from Mangaluru and Bengaluru, and frequent KSRTC bus services from major cities. The nearest railway stations are Subramanya Road (60 km), Mangaluru Central (75 km), Mangaluru Junction (74 km), and Yedamangala (40 km).
