About

Dattatreya Temple Ganagapura, also locally known as Nirgun Math, Shri Kshetra Ganagapur, Deval Ganagapur, Datta Mandir, and Dhanpur, is a revered pilgrimage centre located in the Deval Ganagapur / Shivaji Chowk area of Ganagapur, Kalaburagi district, Karnataka.

Set on the riverbank and showcasing Dravidian architecture, this ancient temple is a prominent spiritual destination for devotees seeking blessings from Lord Dattatreya and other deities such as Sri Narasimha Saraswati Swami, Lord Shiva (Kalleshwara/Mahadeva), Parvati, Ganesha, Hanuman, Naganatha, and Shanidev.

The temple is open daily from 2:30 AM to 9:30 PM, allowing pilgrims ample time for darshan and participation in various rituals. Both free and special darshan options are available, with special darshan offered at a fee of INR 200.

Devotees can experience a rich schedule of poojas, including the early morning Kakad Aarti (2:30–3:00 AM), Paduka Darshan & Morning Rituals (3:00–7:00 AM), Panchamruta Rudrabhishek/Abhishek (7:00–11:30 AM, with options at INR 551 and INR 1101), Maha Mangala Aarti/Naivedya (11:30 AM–12:30 PM), Kesara Lepan Paduka Poojan, and the evening Palakhi Seva (7:30–8:30 PM, INR 1101).

The temple also offers Mahanaivedya/Annadan Seva/Bhiksha Seva (INR 501 and INR 25001) and a Sarva Seva full-day ritual package. Poojas are conducted in Sanskrit, Kannada, and Marathi, catering to a diverse group of devotees.

The temple observes several important festivals, including Guru Purnima (July), Magha Utsavam & Datta Navaratra (January–February), Datta Jayanti (December), Shravana Masa (August–September), Sri Rama Navami (March–April), and Shankaracharya Jayanti.

For pilgrims, the best time to visit is during winter (November–February), early mornings, aarti times, and festival seasons.

Traditional dress is required: men should wear dhoti/pancha with an upper cloth, kurta-pyjama, or formal attire, while women are expected to wear sarees, half-sarees, or chudidhar/punjabi dress with a dupatta. Reaching Dattatreya Temple Ganagapura is convenient.
