Budha Kedar Temple

This ancient hill temple stands gracefully on the banks of a river, offering devotees a tranquil setting for spiritual reflection and worship.

The temple’s living heritage status and its traditional attribution to the Pandavas lend it a unique aura, though its exact historical period remains unknown. Pilgrims visiting Budha Kedar Temple can participate in a variety of poojas, with rituals conducted in Hindi.

The temple opens its doors daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, allowing ample time for darshan and worship.

Free darshan is available to all visitors, and devotees can witness or partake in significant rituals such as Rudrabhishek, Jalabhishek, the Morning Aarti at 6:00 AM, and the Evening Aarti at 6:30 PM.

The temple comes alive during major festivals like Maha Shivaratri (February–March) and the Annual Mela or Margashirsha Fair (November–December), when community-led bhandaras (free meals) are also organized. The dress code at Budha Kedar Temple encourages traditional or modest Indian attire.

Local buses, shared jeeps, or taxis from New Tehri and Ghansali provide access to the temple site. The nearest railway stations are Rishikesh (152 km) and Haridwar Junction (175 km), with Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (157 km) serving as the closest airport.
