Brahmeswara Temple

Recognized as an ASI protected monument, this temple exemplifies the Kalinga architectural style and stands as a significant spiritual and heritage site in the Khordha district.

The temple is also home to deities such as Ganesha, various Parivara deities, and multiple forms of Shiva, making it a prominent destination for devotees seeking darshan and spiritual fulfillment.

The temple welcomes visitors daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with the best times for darshan being early mornings between 5:00 and 8:00 AM, during the evening aarti, or in the cooler winter months from November to February.

Entry for darshan is free, and the temple maintains a traditional dress code: men are encouraged to wear dhoti, kurta, or modest trousers and shirts, while women should opt for sarees, salwar kameez, or conservative kurtis.

Shorts and sleeveless attire are discouraged to preserve the sanctity of the temple. Devotees can participate in a range of poojas and rituals, including the daily Nitya Puja & Abhishekam, Shodasha Upachara during aarti times, and the special Pradosha Puja on Trayodashi days at twilight.

The temple’s spiritual ambiance is heightened during the Morning Aarti at 6:00 AM and the Evening Aarti at 7:00 PM. Poojas are conducted in Sanskrit, Odia, Hindi, and English, ensuring accessibility for pilgrims from diverse backgrounds.

Brahmeswara Temple is especially vibrant during major festivals such as Maha Shivaratri (February–March), Kartik Purnima (November), and Durga Puja/Navaratri (October), when the temple premises come alive with rituals and community celebrations.

Traditional prasadam, including sweets, fruits, or Pakhala Bhata, is offered to devotees, and community food distribution is organized during these festive occasions.

Reaching the temple is convenient, with Bhubaneswar Railway Station just 4.9 km away and Biju Patnaik International Airport at a distance of 5.3 km. From the city center or railway station, visitors can hire taxis or auto-rickshaws to Tankapani Road and proceed to Siba Nagar in Brahmeswarpatna.

Street-side and community parking are available, though space is limited during festivals. The outer premises are accessible, but the raised plinth and stone steps may pose challenges for unassisted wheelchair users.
