About

Bhagyalakshmi Temple Charminar is a renowned Hindu pilgrimage centre dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, located in the vibrant area of Ghansi Bazaar near the iconic Charminar in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Also known locally as Bhagya Lakshmi Temple, this sacred site attracts devotees and visitors seeking blessings and spiritual solace in the heart of the old city.

The temple is recognized for its welcoming atmosphere and accessibility, making it a significant village temple and a popular destination for pilgrims in Hyderabad.

The temple operates with convenient timings: it is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Monday through Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, while on Fridays, devotees can visit until 11:30 PM. These extended hours allow ample opportunity for darshan and participation in temple rituals.

Free darshan is available to all visitors, ensuring that everyone can have a spiritual experience without any entry fee. The temple conducts regular poojas, with the Morning Aarti taking place around 7:00 AM and the Evening Aarti occurring between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

These rituals are performed in Telugu and Sanskrit, offering a traditional devotional ambiance. After the aarti, devotees receive basic prasadam such as kumkum, turmeric, or small sugar and flower remnants. However, due to limited space, there is no formal daily annadanam at the temple.

Festivals are celebrated with devotion at Bhagyalakshmi Temple Charminar. Major occasions include Diwali in October-November, Navratri in September-October, Bonalu in July-August, and Varalakshmi Vratam in August.

These festivals draw large gatherings, filling the temple and its surroundings with vibrant energy and devotion.

Visitors are advised to adhere to the temple’s dress code: men should wear traditional or modest formal clothing, such as dhoti, kurta, or trousers with a shirt, while women are encouraged to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or modest ethnic kurtis.

Shorts, sleeveless wear, and casual attire should be avoided to maintain the sanctity of the temple. Access to the temple is primarily on foot, as there is no dedicated parking.

Visitors can use municipal parking zones in the old city or Laad Bazaar area and walk approximately 200-350 meters to reach the temple. The entrance is wheelchair-accessible, but the area can become crowded and uneven during peak hours.

Photography is generally allowed from permitted viewing angles, but commercial video recording, drones, and tripods are restricted due to local regulations.

Bhagyalakshmi Temple Charminar stands as a spiritual haven in Hyderabad, offering devotees a serene space for worship and connection with Goddess Lakshmi amidst the bustling charm of the old city.
