About

Beechupally Anjaneya Swamy Temple, also known locally as Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy Temple or Beechupally Hanuman Temple, is a revered pilgrimage centre situated on the scenic banks of the Krishna River near the NH-44 bridge in Beechupally, Jogulamba Gadwal district, Telangana.

This ancient temple, built in the Dravidian architectural style, is dedicated primarily to Lord Hanuman, with additional shrines for Lord Shiva and Lord Rama, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings.

The temple’s origins trace back to the Vijayanagara period, with consecration attributed to Saint Guru Vyasaraja and later expansions by the Gadwal Samsthanam rulers.

Managed by a local trust, Beechupally Anjaneya Swamy Temple is recognized as a living heritage temple, drawing pilgrims year-round, especially during major festivals such as Hanuman Jayanti (April–May), Sri Rama Navami (March–April), Maha Shivaratri (February–March), and the Krishna Pushkaralu, which occurs once every 12 years.

Visitors can participate in various poojas, including Abhishekam, Archana (₹10), Sindhoora Alankaram, Akhanda Vahana/Vehicle pooja, and Astikalu Nimajjan Pooja (₹2500). Rituals are conducted in Telugu and Sanskrit.

The temple offers free darshan for all devotees, and traditional prasadam such as Laddu, Puliyodharai, Sindhooram, and holy water is distributed. Pilgrims can also partake in regular free midday meals (Nithya Annadhanam). The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

The best times to visit are during winter (November–February), early mornings (5–8 AM), evening aarti, and the monsoon season (June–September).

A traditional dress code is observed: men are encouraged to wear dhoti, kurta, or pyjamas, while women should opt for sarees, half-sarees, or churidar/salwar kameez with a dupatta. Reaching Beechupally Anjaneya Swamy Temple is convenient by road, rail, or air.
