Bangarh Bhairav Temple

This temple, also known locally by names such as Kotivarsha, Devikota, Devikut, Debkot, and Banapura, stands within the historic Bangarh archaeological ruins, making it both a spiritual destination and a significant heritage site.

The best time to visit is during the winter months from November to February, and early mornings between 5:00 and 8:00 AM are especially recommended for a serene darshan experience. Entry for darshan is free, making it accessible to all pilgrims.

Poojas and rituals are conducted in Bengali and Sanskrit, catering to the local community and traditional practices. The temple is a vibrant center during festivals, particularly Shivaratri (celebrated in February–March) and special worship during the month of Shravana (July–August).

On these auspicious days, simple blessed sweets or fruits are distributed informally as prasadam, though there is no large-scale or daily institutional annadanam.
