About

Virpur Jalaram Bapa Temple, also locally known as Virpur Jalaram Mandir, Jalaram Bapa ni Jagya, and Jaliyan Mandir, is a revered pilgrimage centre located in the Main Bazaar area of Virpur, Rajkot district, Gujarat.

This living heritage temple was established by Saint Jalaram Bapa and his wife Virbai Maa, and it continues to be managed by their descendants and public trusts.

The temple is a significant spiritual destination for devotees from Gujarat and across India, drawing visitors seeking blessings and participating in the temple’s unique traditions.

The temple is dedicated to Jalaram Bapa, with shrines for other deities including Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and Virbai Maa. Daily worship and rituals are conducted in Gujarati and Sanskrit, maintaining the spiritual atmosphere that the temple is known for.

The temple’s architecture is distinctive and stands as a symbol of faith for countless pilgrims. Darshan at Virpur Jalaram Bapa Temple is free for all visitors, with no entry fee.

The temple is open every day from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM, making it convenient for devotees to plan their visit.

The best times to visit are early mornings, during morning or evening aarti, in the winter months (November to February), on weekdays for a less crowded experience, or during the vibrant festival season.

The temple’s daily pooja schedule includes Mangla Aarti at 7:30 AM, Shangar Aarti at 9:00 AM, and Sandhya Aarti at 7:30 PM.

Special spiritual activities like Bhajan/Kirtan are held on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Sundarkand Path on Saturdays and Sundays, and Satyanarayan Katha on full moon nights.

Major festivals celebrated here include Jalaram Jayanti, Annakut Darshan & Nutan Varsh, Krishna Janmashtami, and Guru Purnima, attracting large gatherings of devotees. A highlight of the temple is its continuous free mass feeding (Sadavrat) for all visitors.

Morning prasadi features Ganthia, Boonde, and vegetables, while the evening meal includes Khichadi-Kadhi with ghee. Tea and basic meals are available throughout the operating hours, ensuring that no one leaves hungry.

Reaching the temple is convenient: from Rajkot, take NH 27 towards Virpur, which is about 55-60 km away. The nearest railway stations are Virpur (2 km), Gomta (4 km), and Rajkot Junction (58 km).

Rajkot Airport is 56 km away, while Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is 280 km distant. Local transport options include auto-rickshaws from the bus stand or railway station.

For accommodation, pilgrims can choose from temple dharamshalas, the Jolly Guest House (1 km from the bus stand), local budget hotels in Virpur, or luxury hotels in Gondal (14 km away). The temple provides dedicated outer parking, and facilities are wheelchair accessible.
