Khodaldham Temple Kagvad

This modern temple, built by the Shree Khodaldham Trust, is dedicated to Goddess Shakti and houses sanctums for several revered forms of the Divine Mother, including Maa Amba, Maa Bahuchar, Maa Verai, Maa Mahakali, Maa Annapurna, Maa Gautral, Maa Randal, Maa Butbhavani, Maa Brahmani, Maa Momai, Maa Chamunda, Maa Gel, and Maa Shihori.

The temple is constructed in the majestic Nagara (North Indian) architectural style, making it a visually striking destination for devotees and visitors alike. The temple campus opens from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM, with the main temple accessible from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Devotees can participate in a range of daily poojas and aartis, such as Mangala Aarti at 5:30 AM, Shringar Aarti at 8:00 AM, Bhog Aarti at 12:00 PM, Sandhya Aarti at 7:00 PM, and Shayan Aarti at 8:30 PM.

Abhishek and Archana rituals are also performed, with ceremonies conducted in Gujarati and Sanskrit. Darshan at Khodaldham Temple is free for all visitors.

The temple observes major Hindu festivals, including Khodiyar Jayanti (January–February), Navratri (September–October), Janmashtami (August–September), Diwali (October–November), and Makar Sankranti (January), drawing large numbers of pilgrims during these auspicious times.

The best time to visit is early morning between 5 and 8 AM or during the winter months from November to February for a serene darshan experience.

Visitors are requested to follow a traditional dress code: men should wear modest attire such as trousers, jeans, shirts, or kurtas, avoiding shorts and sleeveless clothing in the main sanctum, while women are advised to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or kurtis that cover shoulders and legs.

Reaching Khodaldham Temple is convenient from Rajkot via National Highway 27, passing Gondal and turning towards Kagvad village. Private taxis, auto-rickshaws, and GSRTC state buses are available from Rajkot, Gondal, and Jetpur.

The nearest railway stations are Virpur (8.6 km), Jetpur (14.5 km), and Rajkot Junction (63 km). For air travelers, Rajkot Civil Airport is 65 km away, with Rajkot International Airport (Hirasar) at 90 km and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at 275 km.

Although overnight stay at the temple is not permitted, a range of budget hotels and dharamshalas can be found in nearby Virpur, Gondal, and Rajkot.

The temple provides a large RCC parking area and is accessible for senior citizens and differently-abled visitors, offering free wheelchairs, golf buggies, and e-rickshaw services.

Prasad Ghar offers packaged prasad, while Annapurnalaya serves pure vegetarian meals at minimal rates, with free drinking water and tea stations on campus. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum but is allowed in the outer gardens and temple exteriors.
