About

Vachhraj Dada Temple, also known locally as Vacharadada, Vachhraj Dada, Vasra Dada, or Vatsaraj Dada, is an ancient pilgrimage centre situated on Vachhraj Bet in the Little Rann of Kutch, near Zinzuwada in Anand district, Gujarat.

This revered village temple is a significant destination for devotees seeking blessings and spiritual solace amidst the unique landscape of the Rann. The temple is dedicated to Vachhraj Dada, with other deities including Meladi Mata, Bahuchara Mata, and Gau Mata also venerated here.

The temple is open 24 hours, though practical darshan is best during daylight hours. Pilgrims are encouraged to visit during the winter months from November to February, when the weather is pleasant and conducive for travel.

Early mornings between 5 and 8 AM or during the evening aarti are considered the best times for darshan, offering a tranquil and devotional atmosphere. Daily poojas at Vachhraj Dada Temple include regular darshan, morning and evening aarti, and abhishek with floral or milk offerings.

Rituals are conducted primarily in Gujarati, allowing devotees to connect deeply with the spiritual traditions of the region. Entry for darshan is free, making it accessible for all pilgrims.

The temple observes important festivals such as Kartik Sud Bij in October–November, Navratri in September–October, and regional animal or cow-protection thanksgiving fairs, drawing large gatherings and vibrant celebrations.

Visitors are expected to adhere to a traditional and modest dress code: men should wear dhoti, kurta, or trousers, while women are advised to wear saree, salwar kameez, or other long attire.

Photography is generally permitted in outdoor and public spaces, but it is recommended to seek permission before capturing images inside the sanctum or during rituals. Reaching Vachhraj Dada Temple involves a journey through the rustic terrain of the Little Rann.

From Anand, travel via National Highway 48 towards Ahmedabad or NE-1/SH-6 to Viramgam, then proceed to Patdi and onward to Zinzuwada. The final stretch to Vachhraj Bet requires local guidance or a 4x4 vehicle to navigate the desert tracks.

The nearest railway stations are Dhrangadhra Junction (55 km), Viramgam Junction (85 km), and Anand Junction (175 km). For air travel, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is 130 km away, while Vadodara Airport is 170 km distant.

Accommodation options include basic pilgrim rest facilities and free meals at the temple, budget lodges and homestays in Patdi and Zinzuwada, and hotels in Viramgam or Ahmedabad.

On festive days, devotees can partake in simple sweets, sheera, milk-based prasadam, and free community meals (annadanam).

Nearby attractions include the Vachhraj Dada Mastak Temple in Vachrajpura (18 km), Zinzuwada Fort (22 km), the Wild Ass Sanctuary in the Little Rann of Kutch, and the Modhera Sun Temple (70 km), making this a spiritually and culturally enriching pilgrimage destination.
