Thirunelli Maha Vishnu Temple

This ancient hill temple is renowned for its Kerala-style architecture and tranquil riverbank setting, making it a sought-after destination for devotees and spiritual seekers.

The temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu, with shrines for Lord Shiva, Lord Brahma, Lord Ganapathy, and Nagas also present within the complex. Thirunelli Temple is recognized as a state heritage site and holds a unique place among Kerala’s sacred sites.

The temple’s historical origins are attributed by tradition to Chera king Kulasekhara Varman, with later patronage by Chola king Bhaskara Ravi Varma, though the exact period of construction remains unknown or disputed.
