About

Swaminarayan Temple Vadtal, also known locally as Vadtal Dham or Vadtal Swaminarayan, stands as a revered pilgrimage centre and ancient temple in Vadtal, Kheda district, Gujarat.

Situated on Narsanda - Vadtal Road near the tranquil Gomti Lake, this temple is a significant spiritual destination for devotees of Lord Vishnu and followers of the Swaminarayan tradition.

The temple’s heritage traces back to the British colonial era, having been built by Bhagwan Swaminarayan (Sahajanand Swami) with the architectural expertise of Sadguru Shree Brahmanand Swami. Today, it continues to be recognized as a living heritage temple.

The main deity worshipped here is Lord Vishnu, with sanctums also dedicated to LaxmiNarayan Dev, Ranchhodraiji, Radha-Krishna, Harikrishna Maharaj, Vasudev, Dharmadev, and Bhaktimata.

The temple’s daily spiritual routine is marked by a series of poojas and aartis, beginning with Mangla Aarti at 5:30 AM and concluding with Shayan Aarti at 9:00 PM. Devotees can participate in Shangar Aarti, Rajbhog Aarti, Utthapan Darshan, and Sandhya Aarti at their respective timings.

All poojas are conducted in Sanskrit, Gujarati, Hindi, and English, ensuring inclusivity for pilgrims from diverse backgrounds. Darshan at Swaminarayan Temple Vadtal is free for all visitors. The temple is open daily from 5:30 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM, with a midday closure.

The best time to visit is early morning or during the winter months from November to February, as well as during major festivals such as Kartik Purnima Samaiya, Chaitra Purnima Samaiya, Swaminarayan Jayanti, Hindola Utsav, Annakut Mahotsav, and Janmashtami.

Visitors are required to adhere to a traditional dress code: men should wear full-length trousers or Indian attire, while women are expected to dress in sarees, salwar kameez, or modest long skirts and tops.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum and worship halls, and mobile phones or cameras are not allowed near the shrines.

Reaching the temple is convenient, with Anand Junction (12 km), Nadiad Junction (15 km), and Vadtal Swaminarayan Station (2 km) as the nearest railway stations. The closest airports are Vadodara (49 km) and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad (58 km).

From Anand or Nadiad, auto-rickshaws, taxis, and GSRTC buses are readily available, while those driving can access Vadtal via NH 48/47.

Onsite, the temple offers guest houses (Dharmashala) and a Bhojanalay serving traditional prasadam like lemon-chilli pickle and sweets such as Mohanthal, along with regular vegetarian meals. Nearby towns Anand and Nadiad provide additional hotel and resort options.

The temple complex is accessible, with dedicated parking and wheelchair-friendly facilities. For those interested in exploring the area, attractions like Shree Santram Samadhi Sthan, Amul Dairy Museum, and Ranchhodrai Temple Dakor are within easy reach. For more details or online darshan, visit the official website or contact the temple directly.
