Siddhivinayak Temple Siddhatek - Ashtavinayak

This ancient temple is one of the prominent Ashtavinayak shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is renowned for its Nagara (North Indian) architectural style.

The temple is also home to other deities including Riddhi, Siddhi, Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Shivai, and Surya, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees.

The temple's sanctum was constructed during the Maratha period by Ahilyabai Holkar, with further additions such as the Nagarkhana and pathway by Sardar Haripant Phadke. The outer hall was expanded in 1970 by devotees, and the temple holds state heritage status, managed by a local trust.

The serene riverbank setting and the hill temple ambiance offer a tranquil atmosphere for worship and reflection. Darshan at Siddhivinayak Temple Siddhatek is open to all, with free entry for devotees. The temple welcomes visitors daily from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM.

The best time to visit is during the winter months (November to February), early mornings between 5 and 8 AM, on weekdays for a less crowded experience, or during the vibrant festival season.

Major festivals celebrated here include Ganesh Chaturthi (Bhadrapad Ganeshotsav), Maghotsav, Sankashti and Vinayaki Chaturthi every lunar month, Vijayadashami, Holi, Janmashtami/Dahi Handi, and Somvati Amavasya.

During these occasions, traditional prasadam such as ladoos and Panchamrut are distributed, and community meals (annadanam) are offered at subsidized rates or free of cost. Daily Abhishek and Mahapooja are performed from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM, with rituals conducted in Marathi, Hindi, and English.

Devotees are requested to adhere to the dress code: men should wear traditional or modest attire, while women are encouraged to wear saree, salwar kameez, or chudidar. Shorts, sleeveless clothing, and revealing outfits are discouraged, especially inside the sanctum.

Reaching Siddhatek is convenient from Pune via the Hadapsar–Indapur/Solapur Highway, turning at Patas to Daund and then to Shirapur/Siddhatek (about 100–110 km). From Ahmednagar, drive south toward Karjat and Srigonda, then follow local roads to Siddhatek (about 85 km).

From Shirapur village, visitors can cross the Bhima River by local boat or take a longer motorable route via Pedgaon and Kashti. The nearest railway stations are Daund Junction (18 km) and Ahmednagar (85 km), while Pune International Airport is 100 km away.

For accommodation, pilgrims can stay at the Shri Ganesh Bhaktnivas guesthouse near the temple, or opt for private lodges in Daund (18 km) and guesthouses in Karjat (15–20 km).

Ample free parking is available at the base of the temple hill, but visitors should be prepared for steps and uneven terrain leading up to the shrine. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the inner sanctum, though allowed in the outer premises.
