Shoolpaneshwar Mahadev Temple

Situated in Gora Village near Kevadia in the Narmada district of Gujarat, this ancient pilgrimage centre stands elevated on a scenic hill ridge overlooking the south bank of the Narmada River.

The temple’s architecture reflects a mixed and renovated style, having been reconstructed in 1994 by the Gujarat Government and project authorities. It remains a living heritage temple managed by a panchayat and local trust, drawing devotees and pilgrims throughout the year.

Men should wear full-length trousers or traditional attire such as dhotis or kurtas, while women are encouraged to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or kurtis with leggings, ensuring legs and shoulders are covered. Shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing clothes are not permitted.

Reaching the temple is convenient. The nearest railway station is Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), just 7 km away, with Bharuch Junction and Vadodara Junction also accessible. Vadodara Airport is 75 km from the temple, while Surat and Ahmedabad airports are within 150–200 km.

From Ekta Nagar or Rajpipla, follow the Kevadia-Rajpipla Road and local signage to Gora village. Designated open-air parking and wheelchair-accessible entry paths are available, though paved steps lead to the inner shrine and riverbank.

Photography and mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the core prayer and darshan zones, but permitted in outer courtyards and gardens.
