Sanwaliya Ji Old Temple Bhadsoda

Located at the Bhadsoda-Bagund and Chhapar village border area near Bhadesar in Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan, this ancient village temple is renowned for its Rajasthani architectural style and spiritual significance among devotees.

The temple is a living heritage site, managed by a local trust and panchayat, and was established by Bholaram Gurjar, a cowherd, along with local leaders and with the support of the Shaktawat rulers of Bhinder.

Its welcoming atmosphere draws pilgrims year-round, especially during festival seasons and auspicious timings. The best time to visit is during winter (November to February), early morning hours between 5:00 and 8:00 AM, during evening aarti, or on major festival days.

The temple opens at 5:00 AM with Mangla Aarti (5:00–5:30 AM), followed by Shringar Aarti at 8:00 AM, Baal Bhog/Rajbhog from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Utthapan at 2:00 PM, Sandhya Aarti after sunset, and concludes with Shayan Aarti and closing at 11:00 PM.

Darshan is free for all devotees, and rituals are conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi. The temple timings are 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Festivals celebrated here include Krishna Janmashtami and Devjhulani Ekadashi in August–September, Annakoot/Govardhan Puja and Deepawali in October–November, Holi & Phooldol Festival in March, Maha Shivaratri in February–March, and Navratri & Ram Navami in March–April.

Pilgrims can reach the temple by arriving at Chittorgarh or Udaipur via train or air, then taking the Chittorgarh–Udaipur Highway (NH 27/NH 76) southwest to the Bhadsoda-Bagund crossroad. Local taxis, auto-rickshaws, and buses are accessible for the final stretch.

The nearest railway stations are Chittorgarh Junction (40 km), Nimbahera (30 km), and Udaipur City (85 km), while Maharana Pratap Airport (Dabok) is 60 km away. The temple ensures a respectful environment with a traditional dress code for men and women.

Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the main complex. Pilgrims are offered prasadam such as tulsi leaves, mishri, dry sweets, and charanamrit, with regular annadanam and free meal services.
