Sant Muktabai Temple

This ancient temple is dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman) and holds a special place for devotees of the Varkari tradition.

The temple complex also enshrines other deities, including Lord Vitthal, Rukmini, Nivrittinath, Dnyaneshwar, Sopandev, and Lord Someshwar (Shiva), making it a spiritual destination for followers of various Hindu traditions.

The temple is recognized as a state heritage site and is managed by the Varkari community and local trusts. Its architecture, though not classified under a specific style, reflects the sanctity and simplicity associated with Varkari pilgrimage sites.

Pilgrims and visitors can participate in daily rituals such as the Morning Aarti and Evening Aarti, both conducted in Marathi. Darshan is free for all, and the temple welcomes devotees from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with extended hours up to 9:00 PM during festive days.

Sant Muktabai Temple is especially vibrant during major festivals like Ashadhi Ekadashi (June–July), Kartiki Ekadashi (October–November), Magha Wari & Antardhan Samadhi Anniversary (January–February), Mahashivaratri (February–March), and the monthly Vadi Ekadashi.

From Jalgaon, the temple is about 57 km east via NH 6, accessible by bus or taxi. From Muktainagar, the temple is just 2–3 km away, reachable by local auto-rickshaw or shuttle.
