Changdev Maharaj Temple

Recognized as an ancient temple and an ASI-protected monument, this revered site draws devotees and history enthusiasts alike with its spiritual ambiance and heritage significance.

The temple is dedicated to Changdev Maharaj, whose samadhi and padukas are enshrined here, and also features shrines and carvings of Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, and apsaras.

The temple’s architecture, dating back to the Chola period with later restorations by Ahilyabai Holkar, showcases unique elements and intricate stonework. The sanctum and courtyards reflect the temple’s long-standing spiritual legacy, and the riverbank setting adds to its tranquil atmosphere.

Photography is permitted in the outer courtyards and at the river confluence, but restrictions may apply inside the sanctum or near sensitive sculptures—visitors should consult temple authorities before taking photos indoors.

Reaching Changdev Maharaj Temple is convenient via Jalgaon or Bhusawal by train or road. From Jalgaon, take NH 6 towards Edlabad/Muktainagar, then travel 12 km to Changdev village. Local auto-rickshaws, taxis, and buses are available from Muktainagar.
