Mandore Temples

Also known locally as Mandore Garden, Mandavyapura, Dewals, and 33 Koti Deviyon ka Mandir, this site is renowned for its unique Rajasthani architecture and its status as an ASI-protected monument.

The temples are set amidst beautiful gardens and are dedicated to a diverse pantheon, including Ravan, Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Vishnu, Devi, the 33 Crore Hindu Gods, and Rajput folk heroes, making it a spiritual destination for devotees from various traditions.

The Mandore Temples were constructed during the Chola period by the Pratihara and Rathore rulers of Marwar, reflecting the grandeur and heritage of Rajasthan’s royal past.

The complex is recognized as a state heritage site and is managed by local panchayat trusts, ensuring its preservation for future generations. Visitors can enjoy free darshan every day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Poojas are conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi, and the best time to visit is during the winter months from November to February, especially in the morning hours or during evening aarti.

The temple observes a modest dress code: men are encouraged to wear full-length trousers or jeans and shirts, while women should choose attire that covers shoulders and knees, whether traditional or western.

Mandore Temples are vibrant during festivals such as Navratri (September-October, March-April), Nag Panchami (July-August), Pitru Paksh (September), Dussehra (October), and the Marwar Festival (October).

During major festivals, simple dry sweets or fruits are distributed as prasadam, and free food (bhandara) may be offered, though there is no daily annadanam. Reaching Mandore Temples is convenient. Arrive in Jodhpur by air, train, or road, then take Mandore Road (NH 62) north from the city center.

The drive is approximately 20–30 minutes (9–11 km). Auto-rickshaws, taxis, and self-drive options are available. The nearest railway stations are Jodhpur Junction (9 km) and Mandor Station, while Jodhpur Airport is also just 9 km away.

Designated parking is available near the entrance, with wheelchair-accessible main paths, though some areas have steps and uneven surfaces.

For accommodation, options range from the adjacent Mandore Resort to WelcomHeritage Bal Samand Lake Palace (2.5–5 km away) and various hotels in Jodhpur city center. Nearby attractions include Balsamand Lake, Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Panchkund Chhatriya, and Toorji Ka Jhalra (Stepwell).
