About

Maisigandi Maisamma Temple, also known locally as Maisigandi Maisamma Mandiram or Maisamma Alayam, is a revered pilgrimage centre situated in Maisigandi village near Kadthal, in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana.

This ancient village temple is dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), with shrines also devoted to Lord Shiva, Lord Rama, and Lord Hanuman, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking blessings from multiple deities.

The temple is recognized as a living heritage site and is maintained under community stewardship, with particular support from local leaders and figures such as founder trustee Panthu Naik, especially for the Banjara/Lambada communities.

The temple’s architecture style is unique and distinct from mainstream traditions, reflecting the local culture and history, though its exact historical period remains unknown or disputed.

Pilgrims can visit the Maisigandi Maisamma Temple during its open hours from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The best time to visit is during the early morning hours (5–8 AM), morning (8 AM–12 PM), or during the evening aarti.

The winter months from November to February and the festival season are particularly recommended for a more comfortable and vibrant experience. The temple offers several darshan options to accommodate the needs of various devotees.

Free darshan is available for all visitors, while Seeghra darshan can be availed for a nominal fee of ₹10. Special and VIP darshan options are also provided, ensuring a smooth and fulfilling spiritual experience. Traditional attire is encouraged for all visitors.

Men are expected to wear dhotis, kurta-pajamas, or neat trousers and shirts, while shorts and sleeveless shirts are discouraged in the sanctum. Women should opt for sarees, salwar kameez, or a traditional kurtii with a dupatta, maintaining modest and respectful clothing.

During festival season, the temple comes alive with celebrations such as Bonalu and the Annual Jatara, drawing large crowds of devotees.

For those travelling by vehicle, ample open parking space is available outside the main temple complex, with wheelchair-accessible options and basic step-free entry modifications for ease of access.

Photography, video recording, and mobile phone usage are strictly prohibited near the main deity’s sanctum, but casual photography of the outer temple architecture and non-restricted courtyards is generally tolerated. This ensures a respectful and serene environment for worshippers at Maisigandi Maisamma Temple.
