About

Komuravelli Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, also known locally as Komrelly Mallanna Temple or Komaravelli Mallana, is a revered Hindu pilgrimage centre dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Nestled atop the Indrakeeladri hillock in Komuravelli village, Siddipet district, Telangana, this ancient temple draws devotees from across the region and neighboring states.

The temple is recognized as a hill temple, cave temple, and a living heritage site, with its roots traced to local shepherd and farming communities, specifically the Yadava and Balija lineages, and later expansions by state and temple authorities.

The presiding deity here is Lord Shiva, worshipped as Mallikarjuna Swamy or Mallanna. The temple also houses shrines for Golla Kethamma and Medalamma, reflecting the unique local traditions.

Maharashtrian pilgrims often refer to the deity as Khandoba, highlighting the temple’s cross-regional significance. Devotees can have darshan from 4:30 AM to 8:30 PM daily, with a closure from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Both free darshan and Seeghra darshan (₹100) options are available.

The best time to visit is early morning (5–8 AM), during winter months (November to February), or on weekdays for a less crowded experience.

The temple is especially vibrant during the annual Komuravelli Mallanna Jatara, held from January to March/April (Sankranthi to Ugadi), and during festivals like Maha Shivaratri, Agni Gundaalu, and Mallanna Kalyanotsavam.

A variety of poojas are performed in Telugu, including Abhishekham (₹600), Rudrabhishekam (₹160), Nitya Kalyanam (₹516), Kumkum Archana (₹50), and the Celestial Wedding Seva (Kalyanam, ₹516).

Traditional Indian attire is required: men are advised to wear dhoti/pancha or kurta-pyjama, while women should wear saree, half-saree, or chudidhar/punjabi dress with dupatta. Reaching the temple is convenient, with direct buses from Hyderabad (JBS/MGBS) and Siddipet.

By road, it is about 85–90 km from Hyderabad via Rajiv Rahadari, and 22 km from Siddipet. The nearest railway stations are Jangaon (45 km), Komuravelli Punyakshetram, and Kazipet Junction/Warangal (110 km). Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad is 85 km away.

For accommodation, the temple trust provides basic rooms, choultries, and halls, with C3 Luxury Rooms (Shivamma Complex) nearby and more hotels in Siddipet. Dedicated parking is available, though it can be congested during festivals.

The temple offers wheelchair accessibility and accessible restrooms. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main premises, with a cloakroom facility for devices.

Prasadam includes Laddu, Chakara Pongal, Daddojanamu, Pulihora, and sacred turmeric, with free Annadanam during major festivals and the Jatara. Nearby attractions include Komati Cheruvu & Suspension Bridge, Mallanna Sagar Reservoir, Kondapochamma Sagar Reservoir, and historic temples in Warangal.
