Kansua Shiva Temple Kota

Situated on the eastern banks of the Chambal River near JK Colony in the Kota Industrial Area, Rajasthan, this temple holds a significant place among pilgrimage centres and is recognized as an ASI-protected monument.

Daily poojas at Kansua Shiva Temple include Morning Abhishek and Aarti at 6:00 AM and Evening Abhishek and Aarti at 7:00 PM, conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi.

The temple comes alive during major festivals such as Maha Shivaratri (February-March) and Shravan Somwar (July-August), when special rituals and community food (bhandara) are organized.

While simple prasadam like sweets, sugar balls, fruit, and charanamrit is distributed after aarti, daily annadanam is not a permanent feature.

Visitors are expected to adhere to a traditional or modest dress code: men should wear dhoti-kurta, kurta-pyjama, or full-length trousers with a conservative shirt, while women should opt for sarees, salwar suits, or kurtis with covered legs and shoulders.

Shorts, sleeveless vests, or ripped clothing are discouraged. Reaching Kansua Shiva Temple is convenient from Kota city. Arrive by rail or road, then proceed to the Industrial Area/Kanswa Village, about 10–12 km south of Kota city center.

From Kota Junction (8 km away) or Sogariya Station (12 km), local transport such as auto-rickshaws, taxis, or buses can be hired towards the Chambal riverside near Kanswa. For those traveling by air, Jaipur International Airport is 240 km away, with Udaipur and Indore airports also accessible.

Parking is available near the temple complex, though it can become crowded during festivals. Photography is not permitted inside the sanctum or near ancient carvings, but casual exterior photography may be allowed with restrictions.
