Kalpathy Viswanatha Swamy Temple

Celebrated as a significant pilgrimage centre and a living heritage site, the temple is renowned for its Dravidian architecture and tranquil riverside setting, drawing devotees and visitors from across the region.

The temple is open daily from 5:30 AM to 11:30 AM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the best times for darshan being early mornings, during aarti, and throughout the winter and festival seasons.

Kalpathy Ratholsavam (Chariot Festival) held in November and the fortnightly Pradosham are major events that attract large gatherings. During such festivals, free mass feeding (Annadanam) is organized, and standard prasadam includes Vibhuti, Kumkum, and Archana offerings.

Visitors are expected to adhere to a traditional dress code: men should wear Kerala mundu or dhoti and remain bare-chested inside the inner sanctum, while women are required to wear sarees, modest salwar kameez, or long skirts with blouses.

Reaching the temple is convenient from Palakkad town, just 3–4 km away. It is accessible via local auto-rickshaws or city buses from the Palakkad KSRTC Bus Stand. The nearest railway stations are Palakkad Junction (3 km) and Palakkad Town (4 km), with Coimbatore International Airport 70 km away.
