Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy Temple, also known as Kaleshwaram Temple or Dakshina Kashi, is a renowned ancient temple and pilgrimage centre located on the banks of the river in Kaleshwaram village, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, Telangana.

This sacred site is dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, with shrines for Lord Yama, Goddess Parvati (Shubhananda Devi), Maha Saraswati, and Lord Ganesha.

The temple is celebrated for its Dravidian architectural style and holds the distinction of being a living heritage and state heritage temple, with historical contributions from the Satavahanas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, and major patronage by the Kakatiya dynasty during the 12th–14th centuries.

Devotees visiting the Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy Temple can participate in a variety of poojas, including Suprabhatha Seva & Early Abhishekam, Mahanyasa Purvaka Rudrabhishekam, Shiva Kalyanam, Kala Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Puja, Lakshmi Patri / Laksha Bilwapatri Puja, Anna Puja & Maha Nivedana, and Kunkuma Archana / Astottaram.

These rituals are performed in Sanskrit and Telugu, with specific timings and options for special access. Darshan options include free darshan, special darshan, and VIP darshan, catering to the needs of all pilgrims. The temple is open daily from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The best time to visit is during winter (November to February), festival seasons, early mornings between 5–8 AM, or during evening aarti.

Major festivals celebrated here include Maha Shivaratri, Karthika Masam, Monthly Shivaratri, Sharad Navaratri, Vasanta Navaratri, Ugadi, Rama Navami, and the Godavari Pushkarams.

A traditional dress code is observed: men are expected to wear dhoti, kurta-pyjama, or formal attire, while women should wear sarees, half-sarees, or salwar kameez/churidar with a dupatta. Modest attire is required for all visitors.

Reaching Kaleshwaram is convenient via road, with TSRTC buses available from Hyderabad, Hanamkonda, Karimnagar, and Godavarikhani. The nearest railway stations are Mancherial (70 km), Ramagundam (83 km), and Peddapalli (85 km). Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad (260 km) and Dr.

Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur (275 km) are the closest airports. Accommodation options include a 100-room choultry near the temple, Haritha Vana Tarangini Resort (TSTDC), and several private lodges and guest houses within walking distance.

Adequate open parking is available for cars, two-wheelers, and buses. For prasadam, devotees are offered Pulihora and Laddu, with Annadanam provided during major festivals.
