Kadana Mataji Temple

This ancient hill temple, set on the scenic riverbank overlooking the Mahi River reservoir, is renowned for its Nagara (North Indian) architectural style and holds both state heritage and ASI protected status.

The temple is deeply dedicated to Goddess Shakti (Amman), with additional shrines for deities such as Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishnu, Brahma, Kalabhairava, Nataraja, Indra, Yama, Varuna, and Hidimba, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings.

Kadana Mataji Temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 3:30 PM to 8:30 or 9:00 PM, allowing ample time for pilgrims to participate in rituals and seek darshan.

Visitors can choose from various darshan entry options, including free darshan, special darshan (₹50 and ₹100), and VIP darshan (₹250 and ₹500), catering to different preferences and needs.

The temple conducts a range of poojas such as Mangala Aarti, Rajbhog rituals, Sandhya Aarti, Kumkumarchana, Divya Aarti, and individual coconut or prasad offerings. Rituals are performed in Gujarati, Sanskrit, and Hindi, ensuring accessibility for a diverse group of devotees.

Festivals are celebrated with great fervor at Kadana Mataji Temple, especially during Navratri (Chaitra and Ashvin), Diwali and Bestu Baras (New Year), Maha Shivaratri, and the Shravan monsoon season.

During these times, the temple organizes community meals (bhandaras), and prasadam such as sweets, laddus, sugar, fruits, and kumkum is distributed after daily aarti.

Reaching the temple is convenient via Ahmedabad Airport or Godhra Railway Station, followed by state transport or private taxis to Lunawada, and then onward by road to Kadana Dam and the temple site.

Godhra Junction (50 km) and Ratlam Junction (95 km) are the nearest railway stations, while Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (127 km) and Vadodara Airport (130 km) serve as the closest airports.

While there are no large hotels near the temple, pilgrims can find accommodation in heritage-style stays at Santrampur, farm stays in Bakor/Khanpur, budget hotels in Lunawada or Godhra, and seasonal tented camps near heritage sites.

The temple provides adequate open-air parking, though wheelchair accessibility is limited to the outer courtyard. Photography is allowed in the outer areas, but strictly prohibited in the inner sanctum.
