About

Jainath Lakshmi Narayana Temple, also known locally as Jainath Temple, Sri Narayan Swamy Temple, and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple, is a revered ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Nestled in Jainath Village in the Adilabad district of Telangana, this temple stands as a significant pilgrimage centre and village temple, attracting devotees from across the region.

The temple’s roots trace back to the Pallava period, with historical records including an 11th-century inscription by Paramara prince Jagaddeva, highlighting its rich heritage and cultural importance.

Recognized as a state heritage site and managed by a local panchayat trust, the temple continues to be a spiritual beacon for the community. Devotees visiting the Jainath Lakshmi Narayana Temple can participate in a variety of poojas and rituals.

The daily schedule includes Suprabhata Seva, Abhishekam, Archana, Sandhya Aarti, Satyanarayana Vratam, and Kalyana Seva, conducted in Sanskrit, Telugu, and Marathi. The temple offers free darshan to all visitors, ensuring an inclusive spiritual experience.

The timings for darshan are from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing pilgrims ample opportunity to seek blessings and participate in the rituals. The temple is especially vibrant during its annual festivals.

The Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Brahmotsavam, held in October–November, is a major event that draws large crowds. Another unique occurrence is the Sun-Ray Phenomenon, observed on Pournami after Dussehra during the same period, which adds to the temple’s spiritual allure.

Other important festivals celebrated here include Vaikunta Ekadasi, Sri Jayanti (Krishna Janmashtami), and Karthika Purnima, making the temple a focal point for religious festivities in the region.

Prasadam is distributed to devotees after daily aartis and special poojas, while community-sponsored annadanam is organized during major festivals, fostering a sense of unity and devotion among visitors.

The best time to visit the Jainath Lakshmi Narayana Temple is during the winter months from November to February, the festival season, the annual brahmotsavam, or during the evening aarti, when the temple atmosphere is especially serene and spiritually uplifting.

The temple’s historic significance, vibrant rituals, and welcoming environment make it a cherished destination for those seeking divine blessings and cultural heritage in Telangana.
