About

ISKCON Temple Agra, also known locally as ISKCON Agra Temple, Sri Jagannath Mandir, or Shri Shri Jagannath Mandir, is a prominent pilgrimage centre situated in Kaveri Kunj, Kamla Nagar, Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

Built by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), this modern temple stands as a spiritual oasis for devotees of Lord Krishna and followers of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition.

The temple also enshrines Lord Jagannath, Baldev (Balarama), and Subhadra, attracting devotees from across India and beyond. The temple welcomes visitors daily from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Free darshan is available for all, and the serene atmosphere is ideal for meditation and prayer. The best time to visit is during the morning hours (8 AM–12 PM), evening aarti, the winter months from November to February, or during the vibrant festival season.

The temple observes a modest dress code: men are requested to wear decent clothing such as dhoti-kurta or kurta-pajama with shoulders and knees covered, while women are advised to wear saree or suit salwar, ensuring shoulders and knees are covered.

A highlight of the ISKCON Temple Agra experience is the series of daily poojas and aartis conducted in Sanskrit, Hindi, English, and Bengali. Key rituals include Raj Bhog Aarti at 12:30 PM, Uthan Aarti at 4:00 PM, Tulsi Aarti at 6:45 PM, and Sandhya Aarti at 7:00 PM.

The temple is especially lively during major festivals such as Janmashtami and Radhastami (August-September), Ratha Yatra and Snana Yatra (June-July), Govardhan Puja/Annakut (October-November), Gaura Purnima (February-March), and Panihati Chida Dahi Utsava (June).

Reaching the temple is convenient from various parts of Agra. From Agra Cantt Railway Station (8-10 km), visitors can hire a taxi or auto-rickshaw towards Kamla Nagar via Mahatma Gandhi Road or Agra-Delhi Bypass.

From Agra Fort Railway Station (5-7 km), taxis or autos can take you towards the Yamuna Bridge area and onwards to Kamla Nagar. Local autos are readily available from major hubs like Idgah Bus Stand and Agra Cantt.

The nearest railway stations are Agra Cantt (8 km), Agra Fort (6 km), and Raja Ki Mandi (5 km), while Agra Airport (Kheria Airport) is 13 km away. ISKCON Temple Agra provides limited on-site or nearby roadside parking and is wheelchair accessible.

Photography is permitted in the temple courtyard but restricted inside the main shrine; visitors are advised to seek permission before photographing deities or rituals. Free Khichdi Prasadam is typically served, with ISKCON Food for Life Seva offering free meals, especially during festivals.

For accommodation, there are numerous budget and mid-range hotels in Kamla Nagar and Nehru Nagar, hostels like Zostel Agra on Fatehabad Road, and luxury hotels near Fatehabad Road and Taj East Gate, approximately 7-10 km from the temple.

Nearby attractions include the Taj Mahal (8 km), Agra Fort (6 km), Mankameshwar Temple (6 km), Mehtab Bagh (9 km), and Kailash Mandir (8 km). For more information, darshan timings, or online darshan, visit the official website at https://www.iskconagra.in/ or contact +919520664650.
