Gogaji Temple Gogamedi

This temple stands out for its unique blend of traditions and its significance as a spiritual destination for devotees from Rajasthan and neighboring states. The temple is dedicated to Gogaji, with Guru Gorakhnath (Gorakhtila) also venerated nearby, reflecting the syncretic traditions of the region.

The temple complex, situated on an elevated mound, showcases a mixed and renovated architectural style. Its origins trace back to the 11th century, while substantial reconstruction was carried out in 1911 by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner.

Managed by a local panchayat trust, the temple retains its importance as a village temple and a focal point for annual pilgrimages. Gogaji Temple Gogamedi welcomes devotees for darshan every day from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with free entry for all visitors.

General darshan is available throughout these hours, and special offerings such as prasad and tanti can be made by devotees. The temple conducts rituals and poojas primarily in Hindi, making it accessible to the local community and pilgrims alike.

The best time to visit is during the early morning hours or during the vibrant festival season. The temple is especially renowned for hosting the Goga Navami festival and the Gogamedi Fair in August-September (Bhadrapada), as well as Nag Panchami observances in August.

During these times, the temple comes alive with community food (bhandara) distributed free to all, and devotees offer sweets made of sugar, honey, coconuts, and sometimes onions as prasadam.

Reaching Gogaji Temple is convenient, with Gogameri Railway Station just 700 meters away; visitors can easily walk or take an auto-rickshaw northeast on Goga Medi Road. The temple is also accessible by road from Delhi and Jaipur via NH 65, and from Hanumangarh, it is a drive of about 94–100 km.

Photography is strictly prohibited near the main Samadhi and sanctum but is allowed in the outer courtyards and architectural areas, with some restrictions during rituals.
