Baladevjew Temple Keonjhar

Dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu, the temple also houses shrines for other deities including Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, Goddess Tulasi, Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Bhairavi, Navagraha, Lord Ganesha, Lord Rama, Kasi Biswonath, Astasambhu Mahadev, and Sidheswar Mahadev.

The temple’s architecture reflects the classic Kalinga style, making it a significant state heritage site. The temple welcomes devotees for darshan every day from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

During major festivals such as Rath Yatra (June-July), Dol Purnima (March), Janmashtami (August-September), and Kartika Purnima (November), the temple comes alive with special celebrations and community-sponsored free food distribution.

Devotees are expected to follow a traditional dress code: men should wear dhotis, kurtas, or full-length trousers and shirts, avoiding shorts, sleeveless wear, and leather items; women are encouraged to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or modest long kurtis, with revealing outfits discouraged.
