About

Ainavolu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, also locally known as Inavolu Mallanna Temple or Inavolu Temple, is a revered ancient temple and pilgrimage centre situated in the village of Inavolu, Warangal district, Telangana.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is also home to deities Balija Medalamma and Golla Kotamma, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees in the region.

The temple’s heritage is marked by its construction under Ayyanna Deva, a minister of the Kakatiya dynasty, and it is recognized as a state heritage site. The temple welcomes visitors daily from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, providing ample time for darshan and pooja rituals.

Both free darshan and special darshan options are available, ensuring accessibility for all devotees.

The best time to visit the Ainavolu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple is during the winter months from November to February, the festival season, or in the early morning hours between 5:00 and 8:00 AM for a peaceful spiritual experience.

A variety of poojas are performed at the temple, including Suprabhatam at 6:00 AM, Abhishekam, Alankaram, Naivedyam & Arthi, and Shayan Seva. Rituals are conducted in Telugu and Sanskrit, allowing devotees to participate in familiar languages.

Traditional prasadam such as vibhuti, kumkum, sweets, and pulihora is distributed, with free annadanam provided during major festivals and the celebrated Inavolu Mallanna Jatara, which takes place from January to March/April (Bhogi to Ugadi).

Maha Shivaratri in February is another major festival observed with devotion. For pilgrims planning their visit, the temple is easily accessible from Warangal.

From the city, head towards the Warangal–Khammam Highway, drive 11 km, turn right towards Inavolu village, and continue for 7 km to reach the temple.

Warangal Railway Station (19 km) and Kazipet Junction (24 km) are the nearest railway stations, while Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad is about 160 km away. The Warangal Airstrip at Mamnoor is another nearby option.

While there are no luxury hotels in Inavolu, accommodation is readily available in Warangal or Hanamkonda, a 30–40 minute drive from the temple. Options include Hotel Blue Moon, FabHotel Lake View Castle, and Hotel Grand Kakatiya.

Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Fort Warangal (17 km), Bhadrakali Temple (22 km), Thousand Pillar Temple (24 km), Ramappa Temple (63 km), and Pakhal Lake (50 km). The temple complex offers adequate open parking and wheelchair-accessible facilities.

Photography is strictly prohibited near the main deity and inner sanctum, but generally allowed in the outer premises. For further information, devotees can contact the temple at +919866240704.
