Unai Mata Temple

This ancient temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti (Amman) and also enshrines deities such as Ushnamba Mata, Ushar Ambaji, and Goddess Sita, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking blessings and darshan.

The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, allowing ample time for pilgrims to participate in general darshan and aarti.

The best times to visit are during the winter months from November to February, the monsoon season from June to September, and especially in the early morning hours between 5 and 8 AM for a serene spiritual experience.

The temple observes a traditional dress code: men are expected to wear modest attire such as trousers, jeans, shirts, or kurtas, while women should opt for sarees, salwar kameez, or kurtis that cover the shoulders and legs.

Short pants and sleeveless wear are discouraged, especially inside the inner sanctum. Unai Mata Temple is renowned for its vibrant festivals, including the Navratri Mahotsav in September-October, Makar Sankranti (Uttarayan) in January, and Dev Diwali (Devuthani Ekadashi/Kartik Purnima) in November.

During these occasions, the temple organizes community meals and food stalls, and prasadam such as kumkum, flowers, coconut, and local sweets is distributed to devotees. Rituals and poojas are conducted in Gujarati, Hindi, and Sanskrit, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of pilgrims.

Reaching the temple is convenient, with clear directions from Navsari or Surat via NH 48 or state highways toward Vansda Taluka, and then along the Unai-Vansda Road (GJ SH 171). The temple is located on the main road near the local market and hot water tanks.

For those traveling by train, Unai & Vansda Road Railway Station (UNI) is right at the temple’s doorstep, while Vyara, Navsari, and Surat stations are within 30 to 85 km. Surat International Airport is the nearest airport at a distance of 90 km.
