About

Thalupulamma Lova Temple, also known locally as Talupulamma Lova or Sri Talupulamma Ammavari Devasthanam, is a revered pilgrimage centre nestled in the scenic hills near Lova village, close to Tuni in Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh.

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), the temple is also home to Sri Markandeyeswara Swamy, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking blessings and divine grace.

The temple stands as an ancient hill shrine, renowned for its Dravidian architectural style and its heritage dating back to the Chola period. It is recognized as a living heritage temple, with historical patronage attributed to Sri Raja Raja Narendra, the Cholas, and the Reddy Rajas.

The temple’s serene location amidst forested hills provides a tranquil atmosphere for worship and meditation. Thalupulamma Lova Temple welcomes devotees daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The best time to visit is during the winter months from November to February, or in the early morning hours between 5:00 and 8:00 AM, when the surroundings are especially peaceful.

The temple offers various darshan options to suit every pilgrim’s needs, including free darshan, special darshan (₹10), VIP darshan (₹25), and Seeghra darshan (₹100). For those unable to visit in person, online darshan and seva registration are available through the official website.

A range of poojas and sevas are performed at the temple in Telugu and Sanskrit. Popular offerings include Uyyala Seva (₹15), Vahana Pooja for two/three-wheelers (₹25) and heavy vehicles (₹100), Chandi Homam on full moon days (₹500), and Panchamrutha Abhishekam on Swathi Nakshatram days (₹250).

The temple is especially vibrant during its major festivals: the Annual Jatara held in March–April (Chaitra Bahula Vidiya to Amavasya) and the Ashada Masa Utsavams celebrated throughout June–July. Getting to Thalupulamma Lova Temple is convenient via National Highway 16 (NH-16).

Pilgrims can reach Tuni or Annavaram, then travel 5–8.5 km inland towards Lova village. Local auto-rickshaws or taxis are available from Tuni Railway Station or the highway junction, and private vehicles can reach the parking area near the hilltop temple.

After participating in poojas, devotees receive traditional prasadam such as kumkum, turmeric, vibhuti, and sweets. Free Annadanam is organized on festival days and Tuesdays, adding to the temple’s spiritual hospitality.
