Jhula Devi Temple

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), the temple also houses shrines for Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman, making it a significant pilgrimage centre for devotees seeking divine blessings in the tranquil Himalayan foothills.

The temple stands as an ancient spiritual site, with its original foundation dating back 700–800 years. The current structure was rebuilt in 1935 by the local community and trust, and it continues to be managed by a panchayat/local trust.

Individual Sankalpa Pooja is also performed, with rituals conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi. The temple comes alive during major festivals such as Sharad Navratri (September–October), Chaitra Navratri (March–April), and Makar Sankranti in January, drawing pilgrims from across the region.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the sanctum, but casual photography is allowed in the outer premises and bell corridor, subject to local guidelines. Getting to Jhula Devi Temple is convenient. Travelers can reach Delhi, Dehradun, or Haldwani/Kathgodam by train, air, or bus.

From Kathgodam or Haldwani, Ranikhet is about 75–80 km away by bus or taxi. The temple is located 7 km southwest of Ranikhet town center on the Chaubatia Gardens road, with local taxis available up to the entry gates.

The nearest railway stations are Kathgodam (74 km) and Ramnagar (85 km), while Pantnagar Airport (108 km) and Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi (350 km) are the closest airports.

Parking is available roadside and at designated spots near the temple, with a short flight of stairs leading up to the shrine. While there are no extensive wheelchair ramps, the temple is accessible for most visitors.
