About

Bhangayani Mata Temple, also known locally as Maa Bhangayani Temple or the Shrine of the guardian goddess of the Shivalik/Sirmaur ridges, is a revered pilgrimage centre nestled in the scenic ridge and foothills area of Haripurdhar, Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh.

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti, with Shirgul Mahadev also worshipped here, this ancient hill temple holds deep spiritual significance for devotees across the region.

The temple’s location on the Haripurdhar ridge offers a tranquil setting, making it a sought-after destination for those seeking darshan and spiritual solace amidst the Himalayas.

Pilgrims can visit daily between 5:00 AM and 9:00 PM, with specific darshan timings in the morning (7:00 AM – 12:30 PM), afternoon (12:30 PM – 5:00 PM), and evening (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM). Free darshan is available to all visitors, and poojas are conducted in Hindi.

Key rituals include the Morning Aarti at 6:00 AM, Afternoon Prayers at 12:00 PM, and Evening Aarti at 7:00 PM. The temple is especially vibrant during festivals such as Navratri (Chaitra and Sharad), Dussehra, and various local Himalayan fairs and special Devi days held from April to October.

During these times, the temple comes alive with devotees, and community kitchens (langar) offer basic food distribution. Prasadam typically includes misri, dry fruits, or local sweets.

Visitors are encouraged to wear traditional or modest clothing—men should opt for full-length trousers and shirts or kurtas, while women are advised to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or similarly conservative attire.

Photography is strictly prohibited near the main idol, but casual photography is allowed in the outer premises and surrounding landscapes, provided local customs are respected.

Reaching Bhangayani Mata Temple is convenient via state transport and private buses or taxis from Nahan, Solan, Rajgarh, and Chandigarh. The journey involves an uphill drive, and the temple is accessible on foot from the Haripurdhar town market.

Parking is available near the approach, though it may be limited during festivals, and the climb may be challenging for those with severe mobility impairments.

For accommodation, options near the temple include Manav Hill Resort Hotel, Hotel Trekkers Hostel, and Haripurdhar Hills Homestay, with HPTDC The Renuka located about 45–46 km away.

Nearby attractions such as Renuka Ji Lake & Sanctuary, Nohradhar, Churdhar Peak & Trek, Habban Valley, and Nahan Town & Jaitak Fort offer additional opportunities for exploration, making a visit to Bhangayani Mata Temple a spiritually and scenically rewarding experience.
