About

Tauni Devi Temple is a revered hill temple located in the Bhalwani region of Tauni Devi, in Hamirpur district, Himachal Pradesh.

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), this ancient pilgrimage centre is nestled amidst scenic hills, offering devotees a tranquil environment for worship and reflection.

The temple is also home to shrines for Sai Baba, Baba Balak Nath, Shani Dev, Lord Shiva, and Lord Hanuman, making it a significant spiritual destination for followers of various Hindu traditions.

The temple welcomes visitors daily from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, allowing ample time for darshan and participation in rituals. Free darshan is available to all devotees.

The spiritual atmosphere is enhanced by the daily Morning and Evening Aarti, conducted in Hindi, which draws devotees seeking blessings and peace.

Prasadam typically includes misri, dry sweets, or fruit, and during major festivals, the temple organizes community feasts (Bhandara/Annadanam), fostering a sense of togetherness among pilgrims. Tauni Devi Temple comes alive during its vibrant festival celebrations.

The Ashadha Annual Fair, held in June–July, attracts large gatherings. Navratri is celebrated twice a year, during Chaitra (March–April) and Ashwin (September–October), while Diwali and Maha Shivaratri are also observed with devotion and special rituals.

The best time to visit the temple is in the morning hours between 8 AM and 12 PM, as well as during the winter (November–February), summer (March–May), and festival seasons, when the temple’s spiritual energy is at its peak.

Visitors are requested to adhere to the temple’s dress code: men should wear modest, traditional attire and avoid shorts or sleeveless clothing inside the main sanctum, while women are encouraged to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or kurtis with covered shoulders and knees.

Reaching Tauni Devi Temple is convenient. Pilgrims can arrive at Hamirpur town via NH-3 using state buses or private taxis from major cities like Chandigarh, Delhi, or Dharamshala.

From Hamirpur, the temple is accessible via the Hamirpur–Awah Devi road, with local buses, auto-rickshaws, or private cabs available for the 12–15 km journey.

The nearest railway stations are Una Himachal (45 km) and Amb Andaura (50 km), while Kangra Airport (65 km) and Chandigarh International Airport (160 km) serve as the closest airports.

Accommodation options include Chopra Residency (12 km away), Thakur Homestay, Hotel Green Hill & Restaurant, and several hotels and government rest houses in Hamirpur town.

For those interested in exploring the region, nearby attractions include Awah Devi Temple, Sujanpur Tira/Fort, Baba Balak Nath Temple (Deotsidh), and Narbadeshwar Temple.

Basic roadside or community parking is available near the temple, though visitors should note that the main prayer area is accessed via steps and is not fully wheelchair accessible.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the inner sanctum, but casual photography of the temple’s exterior and surrounding landscape is generally permitted—always check local signage or consult temple authorities before taking photos.

Tauni Devi Temple stands as a serene and spiritually rich destination, inviting devotees and travelers to experience its sacred ambiance and the natural beauty of Himachal Pradesh.
