About

Sant Eknath Maharaj Samadhi Temple Paithan, also known locally as Shri Nath Samadhi Mandir or Nath Mandir, is a revered pilgrimage centre situated on the banks of the Godavari River in Nath Galli, Nagar Palika area, Paithan, Maharashtra.

This ancient ashram temple is a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking the blessings of Sant Eknath Maharaj and is recognized as a living heritage temple managed by a local trust.

The temple is renowned for housing the sacred Charan Padukas of Sant Eknath Maharaj, along with shrines dedicated to Shri Vijayi Panduranga (Vitthal/Vishnu), Ekvira Devi, and the samadhis of Sant Eknath’s ancestors, descendants, and disciples such as Uddhava and Gavoba.

The temple complex reflects a blend of historical contributions, with the padukas established by Haripandit (Sant Eknath’s son), a core wooden structure built by Shri Bhanudas Maharaj Gosawi, and stone fortifications added by Ahilyabai Holkar.

Darshan at the Sant Eknath Maharaj Samadhi Temple is free for all devotees. The temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM, allowing ample time for pilgrims to participate in various poojas and rituals.

On Ekadashi, special Mahapuja and Abhishek are performed. Rituals are conducted in Marathi and Sanskrit.

The best time to visit is during early mornings, evening aarti, winter months (November to February), and the festival season, especially during Eknath Shashti (Nathashthi) in Phalgun, Ashadi Wari/Palkhi Sohala in Ashadh, Gokulashtami, and Bhanudas Chaturthi.

Devotees are required to follow a modest, traditional dress code. Reaching the temple is convenient from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), located 56 km away.
