Renuka Devi Temple Mahur

This revered temple is a significant Shakti Peetha and pilgrimage centre, attracting devotees from across India who seek the blessings of Goddess Shakti.

The temple is also home to shrines dedicated to other deities such as Lord Dattatreya, Anusaya Mata, Lord Parashurama, Rishi Jamadagni, Kalika Mata, and Devdevshwar, making it a spiritual hub for followers of various Hindu traditions.

The temple’s origins trace back to the Chola period and it was constructed by the Yadava dynasty of Devgiri, lending it considerable historical and architectural value.

Darshan at Renuka Devi Temple is available through multiple entry types, including free darshan, special darshan (INR 550), VIP darshan, and seeghra darshan, catering to the needs of all pilgrims.

The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with early morning hours (5–8 AM), winter months (November–February), and festival seasons being considered the best times to visit.

Devotees can participate in a variety of poojas such as Abhishek Puja (INR 399), Panchamrit Abhishek (INR 699), Nanda Dip Puja (INR 849), Naivedyam (INR 649), Shri Suktam Abhishek (INR 1299), Navchandi Path (INR 4099), and Special Queue Darshan/Puja (INR 550).

Poojas are conducted in Sanskrit and Marathi, preserving the temple’s rich liturgical heritage. Major festivals celebrated here include Chaitra Navratri (March–April), Ashwin Navratri & Vijayadashami (September–October), Diwali (October–November), and Dattatreya Jayanti (December–January).

During these times, free food (annadanam/mahaprasad) is served to devotees, and prasadam such as kumkum, floral remnants, betel leaf/nut, and sweets are distributed.

To reach the temple, pilgrims can arrive at Nanded by train or road, then take an MSRTC bus or private taxi to Mahur town (about 125–130 km).

From Mahur, local auto-rickshaws or a walk up Renuka Mata Mandir Road lead to the base parking area, followed by a climb of 200–250 stone steps to the hilltop temple. Palki/doli services are available for the elderly or disabled.

Parking is provided at the foothills near pooja shops and the entry gate. Accommodation is available in Mahur town at pilgrim lodges like Shri Renuka Bhakt Niwas and Buldhana Urban Bhakta Nivas, as well as local guest houses and state rest houses.

Nearby attractions include Mahurgad Fort, Datta Shikhar (Lord Dattatreya Temple), Anasuya Mata Mandir, Pandav Leni, and Hiwara Sangam. Photography is strictly prohibited near the main idol area, but may be permitted in the outer temple premises depending on local guidelines.
