Ambadevi Temple Amravati

The temple is located near Gandhi Square and Rajkamal Square, on Akshay Rajgure Road in the Patvi Pura area, making it easily accessible for devotees and visitors alike.

This living heritage temple, managed by a local panchayat trust, stands as a spiritual focal point for the city and surrounding regions.

The primary deity worshipped here is Goddess Shakti, also referred to as Amman, and the temple also houses shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Parvati, Goddess Lakshmi, and Narayana.

The temple’s ancient foundation has seen expansions during the 11th-century Yadav period and the 18th-century Maratha Empire, reflecting its enduring significance in the region.

Ambadevi Temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM, allowing ample time for darshan and participation in various rituals.

Free darshan is available to all devotees, and the temple observes a traditional dress code: men are encouraged to wear kurtas, dhotis, or formal attire, while women are advised to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or modest kurtis with covered shoulders and knees.

Wraps or lungis may be provided if needed.

A rich schedule of poojas is conducted throughout the day, including the Morning Puja and Aarti at 6:00 AM, Afternoon Puja and Mahanaivedya at 12:00 PM, Evening Puja at 6:00 PM, and the Evening Aarti (Sandhya Puja) at 7:30 PM, culminating with Night Puja at 9:00 PM.

Special abhisheks and pujas such as Shri Ambadevi Abhishek, Shri Ganpati Abhishek, and Paradlinga Puja are also performed, with rituals conducted in Sanskrit and Marathi.

The temple is especially vibrant during Shardiya Navratri (September–October) and Dussehra (Vijayadashami), drawing pilgrims from across the region. The best times to visit are during winter months, festival seasons, early mornings, and during evening aarti.

Reaching the temple is convenient: Amravati Railway Station is just 1 km away, and Badnera Junction is 10 km from the site. Amravati Airport (Belora) is 15 km away, while Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur is 150 km distant.

The approach lanes are narrow, so two-wheelers or auto-rickshaws are recommended, and dedicated paid parking is available nearby. Basic wheelchair-accessible entryways and ramps are provided.

For accommodation, trust-run dharamshalas and budget rooms are located near the temple, with several hotels such as Hotel Rajdhani, Hotel Amba, and Hotel Grace Inn within 0.5–1 km. Devotees can partake in daily Mahaprasad and subsidized Devi prasad bhojan for a nominal fee.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum and temple interiors.
